Even with the terrible weather last week the trails in Speculator were in good shape for the most part.  Kudos to the Town of LP grooming team for getting Perkins in great shape for the weekend.  Mud Lake road was fantastic on Saturday and Sunday.  Job well done!   On Saturday we groomed the village trails and C4 from Oak to Perkins w/ the BR-110 and they are in decent shape but more snow is needed.  On Sunday we tried to groom Cave Hill Rd to Wells  w/ the BR-60+ but we encountered a long patch of glare ice on Cave[…]

Despite the rain on Thursday the Trails in and around Speculator and Perkins Clearing are in Good to Great shape.  Today we rode Perkins from Rt 30 to Mud Lake Rd, over the new Moss Vly Bridge, back out to Jessup River Rd and then Perkins Clearing Rd south to Rt 30 and it was a 10+.  The Village trails as well as trail C4 from Oak Mt to Perkins were groomed this afternoon and for the most part these trails are in very good shape. Logging update - When we went to groom Old Rt 30 in the Tree farm Sunday we learned that the trail had been plowed clean by the logger working on Fly Creek. We were told over a week ago that the logger was to be off of Old Rt 30 within a day or two and there would be no more plowing. Paul A. contacted the DEC again only to learn that the logger complained that he was having problems taking empty trucks down a section of Elm lake Rd and the Town of Wells told them it was OK[…]
