    DMV OFFERS ONLINE REGISTRATION OF OUT-OF STATE SNOWMOBILES DMV OFFERS ONLINE REGISTRATION OF OUT-OF STATE SNOWMOBILES Non-Residents Can Obtain Temporary Registration and Immediately Begin Riding In an effort to make it easier for snowmobile riders from other states to operate their sleds in New York, the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles has developed a new online transaction that will allow out-of-state snowmobilers to print temporary New York State registrations for snowmobiles that are currently registered in their home states.     Now, non-residents of New York State who have snowmobiles registered in their home states may apply for a NYS snowmobile registration ONLINE!  New York registration is required to operate the snowmobile on New York State's 10,500 mile trail system. A temporary NYS registration is issued at the end of the transaction for immediate operation of the snowmobile in NYS.     NYSSA Partners with JIMAPCO NYSSA has partnered with JIMAPCO, makers of road maps and all sorts of other mapping software, to provide snowmobilers with an interactive snowmobile trail guide. This online guide was derived from the trail information that the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation collects, which is in the public domain.
