Now, non-residents of New York State who have snowmobiles registered in their home states may apply for a NYS snowmobile registration ONLINE!  New York registration is required to operate the snowmobile on New York State's 10,500 mile trail system. A temporary NYS registration is issued at the end of the transaction for immediate operation of the snowmobile in NYS. This online guide was derived from the trail information that the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation collects, which is in the public domain.
