January 2015  Newsletter

Happy New Year to All,  wishing each of you good health and prosperity!

December was a crazy month for everyone!  Jam packed with Holiday parties, presents and burned out Christmas lights!
Even for the club, busy was on the top of the list.
We started with a Children’s Christmas party at the Piseco Community Hall.  All in all, 25 kids and many of the grown up community residents joined in the fun.  It was great to see the kids running around and great for them to see Santa so they could get in their last minute gift ideas!!
Later the same evening the adults gathered at the Oxbow Inn for the Annual Club Auction.  The support of the local businesses were greatly appreciated and very generous.  Over $1700 was raised and will be used to support the fireworks display at the February 8th Tree burning party.
The last snowmobile safety course had 35 participants, and hopefully that means 35 safe and responsible riders on the trails this year!

Speaking of trails….  They’re ready, but Mother Nature is apparently NOT!
We are all awaiting a good dumping of snow and cold temperatures for the Lakes.
At this point in the game, we do not recommend riding ANY lakes.  Some have only froze over in the past few days and with the huge swings in temps, who knows what the “frozen” ones are like.
Stay tuned to our Facebook page for updates.
January 24th is the big day.  Beginning at Oak Mountain, riding to your choice of destination and back to Oak for a buffet dinner.  All proceeds of the day will be donated to the Local Chapter of the American Cancer Society.  The 2014 ride donated over $12,000.00 and we would surely like to beat that total this year.
The committee is seeking volunteers for all positions of the day.  Trail Guides, if you have a keen sense of direction and would like to show everyone you do, volunteer for this duty!
We need food servers and clean up crew and pot scrubbers in the kitchen.  If you don’t do enough of those things on a regular basis, please sign up for one of those tasks!  If you can’t stay all day to volunteer, we will work with you! There is a job for everyone!
Please contact Veronica @ (518) 332-7222
Kathy @ (518) 774-6726

 Sunday, February 8th
Join the Pleasant Riders as we give away our raffle sled (you know, the one you have been working so hard selling the tickets for) Burn up our Christmas trees, eat hot dogs and chili. Oh yeah, watch a fantastic fireworks show, too!
We are currently in the process of adding to the event.  The club is working on adding some new and exciting activites.  Don’t get us wrong, it’s fun standing around the bonfire eating and drinking, but wouldn’t you like to get a few more laughs or perhaps break a lil’ sweat?  We will keep you posted in case you need to put together a team!  If you have any ideas you would like to submit please contact us via Facebook!

Next meeting Wednesday January, 14th @ 7PM
